RE-WORK:
After my last critique with Lee she said that my work really needs a lot of development and that my theme of my conference isn't well expressed in my design work. From here I went back to brainstorming. I went back to the last poster - in the first presentation - and thought why did this poster discuss my conference clearer.
After realising it was because of the technology and the layout of the collage look I critiqued the symbols and my event title. Thinking does Above the fold mean or say anything about the future? I came to the realisation that it indeed doesn't.
So what does mean 'the future'?
Re-brainstorm of titles:
From this I went onto develop posters:
I saw a really nice laid out poster in town which I liked the reflective qualities and simplicity of the design -
From here I continued to develop my original idea and took it back to basics - it started relatively similar to my poster post-critique but soon enough developed and started to have a lot more meaning and symbolism instead of standards crosses and plusses.
My new poster to take to class on Friday:
I believe it has developed and speaks a lot more about the future. The title prospective means the future and what to expect, the conference will be about what the future holds and to gain a perspective on the prospective future, so this title relates far more straight forward. Also the visual hierarchy reads well from the title to the sub-line where you understand what the conference is about.
The arrows are a representation the future could possibly go in any direction and the ? mark behind with the books and different technologies represents that it could indeed go anywhere.
I am hoping this poster Lee and Donald see relates directly to the understanding of the conference.
