2017 Design Conferences -
Researching pre-existing design conferences to see what components of these conferences I believe would contribute to an interesting design conference in New Zealand.https://qz.com/873151/the-best-design-conferences-in-2017-around-the-world-including-ted-sxsw-and-design-indaba/ - This link also outlines where some of the speakers at the conferences are from and these are good ideas as to where I could bring people from to speak at my conference.

Brainstorming parts of a conference which interest me -
Looking in-depth into a couple more-specific ideas -
Starting to also investigate some possible speakers
Jessica Helfand is a very interesting Graphic Designer and lecturer at the university of Yale. Here is an interesting piece where she speaks of logo designs and ethics. Also an interesting topic Jessica addresses is how everyone is believing that themselves are designers, as the commonly brought up topic of everyone being photographers. This could be an interesting topic for designers and could be a conference around do you need the qualification and where is the line as to if you are a designer or not. Also the ethics and how you can separate yourself from 'false' designers.
Jessica also is an author of many books, which I will go and investigate in the library.
Critiqued - Christina Beard
I found this book in the library and believe it sparked a new theme for my conference "the future of graphic design".
There is a section where Christina addresses this and as above this is outlined.
In this book it goes through many graphic design practitioners, and they all answer the question where will graphic design go.
Some artists which have interesting views about the future of graphic design:

The future of Graphic Design - Where to from here.
With Speakers such as
Jessica Helfand - Speaking about her position thinking that everyone now thinks they're designers no matter who they are.
Thumbnailing:
Titling ideas -
Thinking and trying come up with some different headings to see what ideas stick with this design.
